by on Jun.10, 2009, under Podcasts

This is my very first on-air interview with a fellow traveler! Ningxi Xu is a Chinese girl who was born in the city I currently live called Wuhan. Two years ago she moved to the US to begin her university career studying International Relations at George Washington University, a very expensive and prestigious college located in Washington, D.C. Til the End

by on May.25, 2008, under Daily Life

I had an interview a few days ago at 2am local time with the private training school in Wuhan, China. I wasn’t given an immediate answer because the recorded interview, along with the recommendation of the interviewer, had to be reviewed by his boss. He informed me that he didn’t see a reason why the job wasn’t mine. Despite this, 4 days have gone by without a single word from the school or the agency that I found the school through.

If the school tells me yes, I have a flight booked for June 8th. This gives me enough time to tie up lose ends. If the school says no, it’s back to the drawing board. As much as it’s been nice spending time with people, I really want this job because it seems like the best opportunity to get my foot in the door. Trust me, you’ll know if I get the job!

Update: I found out Sunday night that I got the job in Wuhan! They are in the process of mailing me the contract and the documents I need to apply for the visa! I also have 1 immunization shot left (Japanese encephalitis)! Also need to pick up the Chinese money I ordered, get the anti-malaria pills, and other things. So much to do in so little time!
