Vienna, Austria

One of the most exciting things we did on our trip to Vienna was tour the UN Headquarters! The room you see here is one of the main meeting rooms for the member nations! We were sitting in the viewing gallery, and I believe this is also where the translators can sit, but it might just be for reporters.

Me, Enide, and two other girls purchased tickets from these guys for an orchaestral performance going on a block from our hotel. The guy with dark hair had a crush on the girl in the photo, so he made plans to tag along with us for the performance and he even got us a wristband so we were treated to a few free drinks!

I walked to the downtown area before the performance to find something to eat. I was starving and thought this was a Burger King and was excited until I noticed the sign “Burg Kino,” which is German for “Mountain Theater.” I’ll admit I felt silly :D

After the meal I had to rush back to the hotel to make it to the performance on time. Since none of us had working cellphones, they had no idea where I was :(

So the next day we went to the Schönbrunn Palace. It was exciting for all of about an hour. I think I got lost in the garden maze but hell, that was two years ago, I don’t remember much! .

They gave us free time for the rest of the day so I walked thirty minutes by myself to Freud’s Vienna apartment turned-museum. I learned a lot about him: for example, he ran experiments in which he used cocaine on himself and his patients to fix their problems. He became addicted to cocaine!

After I left his place I walked to his favorite local cafe called Landtmann’s and ordered a piece of cake because I was starving (the meals themselves were expensive).

When I remember more I’ll write it!
