Hair cuts in Wuhan
The average cost of an adult male haircut in Florida is roughly $15. The average cost of an adult male haircut on the streets of China is roughly $0.80. I admit I’ve never tried a haircut in this fashion, but the guy who does cut my hair at least owns a shop on my street. He didn’t go to beauty school and he doesn’t have a license to do what he’s doing, but that doesn’t stop him from cutting my hair and doing a pretty good job of it for the same price as a Snickers bar (5rmb, or $0.80).
Many of the people in this country aren’t licensed, or don’t work in the same field as they earned a degree in (if they did earn one), and this is a problem for China. A person might have a degree in English and work in a bakery or handing out fliers for a measly 800rmb ($115) a month, only because there are so many people and not enough jobs to meet the supply OR demand.
