The Online Technology Revolution

The one wish that bloggers around the world have is to freely express themselves.
After reading this article on CNN, I was appalled by the fact that some countries still restrict the flow of information at such a high intensity. Having lived in China for the last year, I’ve become quite aware how serious China is about restricting information, such as banning YouTube (2 months now and going strong) after a video showed up regarding a riot in the far west of China.
My website is hosted in America, so I know I’m safe from having my content deleted, but being blocked is quite a concern as I know of several expats in China whose sites are blocked. Despite my many complaints about the lifestyle of Americans, I have to admit that life there wasn’t bad compared to some other countries. I know I don’t have to fear being jailed or possibly even tortured. I just wish that people in other countries didn’t have to fear that as well.
