New site
A few days ago, I finally had the time to separate my personal blog posts from my travel website and the result is this new site. I’m still making changes to it, but that will be completed soon!
I’m still looking for a full-time job that comes with a contract and a new work visa, as my current one expires in July 2009. My hope is gaining employment at a university close by, that I can remain in my current apartment. Nick floated an ingenious idea, which I believe I’ll pursue immediately, and can’t believe I hadn’t done it earlier. More to come on that.
I’ll stress again how much I needed that trip to Shanghai, especially having been by myself. I hope in the future I can take more trips like these, preferably to other countries.
I’ve been using the social media website Twitter for less than a month, and have already become a semi-famous star. One day I had 130 followers, the next 188. The next, 350. Now I have 440 followers and have seen a consistent jump in visits to my Travel site to the tune of almost 200 a day!
I’m now writing for my travel site, this site, and three other sites: Nomadic Matt, Nick Bowditch, and the Solo Traveler Blog. I’ve even included a widget in the sidebar that show you my last few articles from my travel site!
After returning from the beautiful sunny days in Shanghai, I feel cheated because the weather in Wuhan has become unacceptable once again. I’m only grateful for the fact that it isn’t 40F (4C) anymore! As soon as the sun stops hiding, Lily and I have planned to go fishing with her uncle. Tonight I’m having dinner with them!
I know my mom mentioned to some people how I’d be returning in the summer, but I’ll be honest, it’s not happening. I don’t earn enough money, and having a girlfriend means I’m saving even less than I used to. Hopefully with the idea I’m going to pursue I can earn MUCH more money, and then hopefully next year I CAN come home for a visit.
