Another explosion, another fight. My tolerance level is way beyond my normal limits, and I’m pissed. The way Chinese companies run is that they constantly belittle their employees. They feel that if they praise their employees, that the said employee(s) would stop trying hard. Well that makes us foreigners feel like absolute shit. They belittle us and tell us how terrible we are as teachers. It makes me sick and I fucking hate it. I told the school that I don’t appreciate the way they treat me and I won’t stand for it. I have a few more things to do here though…
Last night was an executive business party shindig where New Oriental invited VIPs from all the largest companies, some people coming from Britain and Spain but mostly from within China. The foreigners were asked to do nothing but dress in formal attire and mingle. We weren’t being paid for our time and our time was being wasted. We asked to leave early since our presence was merely symbolic, yet they refused to allow us to go. So we drank the wine and ate the food and hit the rock on the ground with our hands in our pockets.
After work I met a friend and we hung out til about 1… and then I woke up sick this morning.
